So for the 4th year in a row April has been the most amazing month for weddings. Clair and kris were just as lucky as ever. After an unexpected down poor on the Friday night we woke to a beautiful sunshine filled day on Saturday morning. Now those of you who know me know I am not overly keen on big sunny days as it tends to make people squint in photos but once again April did not fail me. As we headed out for our groups the clouds came over acting like a perfect light box.. wonderful. So no rain, no squints just amazing photos.

For the couples photos we took some time out and had a walk around the church and near area of Sproatley and took inspiration from a field full of yellow flowers. After a few shots by the church we took a drive down to Hessle to get some Humber Bridge shots and play some games that made for fun loving wedding photos. Followed by a wonderful sweety filled reception at the Country Park in.

I am loving this sunny weather. I always say my April location shoots are the best because from where I am standing April showers no longer happen.. they seem to come in May. So perhaps we should re name them May Showers.

With all this wonderful summer like weather I have been using my evenings for Engagement shoots. As I said in my last post they give us a chance to get to know one another before the big day and are indeed a lot of fun.

The other week I had the pleasure of working with Rachael and Mark. They are getting married at Welton Church this coming August so we chose Racheals home village of Welton for our engagement shoot. I must say for such a cute small village it did offer some wonderful back drops for our photos.

This photo shoot was so wonderful Mark and Racheal were fab to work with. They were so relaxed in front of the camera and just enjoyed the time together being them selfs. No camera pouts here just real life love, fun and laughter.

How did you enjoy the freakishly warm weather last week?

Well as usual I took the chance to arrange some amazing location shoots for my portfolio. As some of you maybe aware I am very soon going to be starting to offer couples pre wedding photo shoots. The idea behind this is that it will give us a chance to spend sometime working out the style of photos you want for your big day, getting you both familiar to being in front of the camera. As well as spending some time together to get to know each other and with any look having some fun and taking some amazing photos along the way. I have a few pre wedding shoot products in mind that I hope to offer ranging from save the date cards or invites to guest signature boards. But when I have some of these to show you I will be sure to post some photos of them.

Anyway back to last week. Well Thursday I took the chance to book out one of the light evenings to spend some time with Emma and Roman. Now as some of you will know I actually photographed there wedding last September but Emma follows me on facebook and when I posted that I was looking for couples to practice on she jumped at the chance to have some updates to her wedding photos.

Also as this was a shoot for learning I took out my new student / 2nd shooter Amy so she could see first hand how I work, get some practice in as well as learn about using reflectors.

All in all it was a fun though short evening out. The sun was shining.. sometimes a little to bright the rain stayed away and we got some wonderful golden sunset shots.

Anyway as always I will let the photos do the taking.

Enjoy

I got my new car about a year ago and have been wanting to get her tuliped up for ages but with one thing or another its just not happened. To start with I was just super duper busy, then I changed my mind on the design. But we soon decided what I wanted and so we went to order the vinals and they arrived in September... whoop I though fab I can get them on and and pimp up my little yellow car. One Sunday morning early October Adrian and I set to and got half of her done before the rain set in.. we decided we could finish another day. BANG! I had a wee little bump and in to be fixed she went. Trouble was it took 4 months as VW FOX bumpers were not being made so we couldn't get a new one. So finally when I got her back in February this year I patiently waited for a sunny day but it seemed as always is the case everyday I had the time it was raining so in the end I had to call in a hero and pro. Terry for SS Advertising came along and set to finishing little yellows Tulips. What an amazing job he has done. She looks wonderful so Both little Yellow and I would like to say thanks to Terry Gill and the team at SS Advertising for the wonderful job they have made designing and sticking on my Tulips.

Look out for us pottering about in the Hull and Yorkshire region and if you see us give us a wave.

Love

So as some of you know already I am getting married my self this September. As Adrian and I are not ones for waiting around we have given our self's just 5 months to plan and arrange everything. So things around the Tulip office ie my home are a little crazy at the moment.

I went to meet with Annemarie King my wedding photographer this weekend (one job I can't do myself) and we got talking about how many photographers don't let you get to know them. Now I know many will tell you how long they studied, where they studied the style of photography they work in but most never really let you in... yet here you are letting them into the most important day of your life. Your wedding day. So I thought I would do a little post on me. Let you all in and tell you a little about the things I love and the things that make me tick.

So lets start on an up beat note.. what do I love.. humm! Well to start with I have to say my number one above all else yes even photography is my wonderful fiancé Adrian. He puts the twinkle in my eye and a smile on my face. After that it is a close second.. yes you guessed it Photography :-) I love photography but most of all I love to photograph people, I love the way people work, what makes them smile, laugh, cry.. that's why I love my job. Its you guys that get me out of bed in a morning. After photographing people I have to say I love coffee and this fits rather well with my love of people. A perfect afternoon off from work would be spent sitting in one of my favourite coffee shops in my favourite city, the city of Edinburgh with my Adrian, drinking coffee and watching the world go by.. bliss. Last but not lest I love to dance especially to Latin music.. anything to whisk me away to a far away place with warm waters and fabulous food. Oh yeah how could I forget, I love food, cooking it and eating it any food really but always good proper made with love food.

Well I hope this has let you know me better and perhaps in the not to distant future we can meet over a coffee watch the word go by together and I can get to know you a little too.
