So as some of you know already I am getting married my self this September. As Adrian and I are not ones for waiting around we have given our self's just 5 months to plan and arrange everything. So things around the Tulip office ie my home are a little crazy at the moment.

I went to meet with Annemarie King my wedding photographer this weekend (one job I can't do myself) and we got talking about how many photographers don't let you get to know them. Now I know many will tell you how long they studied, where they studied the style of photography they work in but most never really let you in... yet here you are letting them into the most important day of your life. Your wedding day. So I thought I would do a little post on me. Let you all in and tell you a little about the things I love and the things that make me tick.

So lets start on an up beat note.. what do I love.. humm! Well to start with I have to say my number one above all else yes even photography is my wonderful fiancé Adrian. He puts the twinkle in my eye and a smile on my face. After that it is a close second.. yes you guessed it Photography :-) I love photography but most of all I love to photograph people, I love the way people work, what makes them smile, laugh, cry.. that's why I love my job. Its you guys that get me out of bed in a morning. After photographing people I have to say I love coffee and this fits rather well with my love of people. A perfect afternoon off from work would be spent sitting in one of my favourite coffee shops in my favourite city, the city of Edinburgh with my Adrian, drinking coffee and watching the world go by.. bliss. Last but not lest I love to dance especially to Latin music.. anything to whisk me away to a far away place with warm waters and fabulous food. Oh yeah how could I forget, I love food, cooking it and eating it any food really but always good proper made with love food.

Well I hope this has let you know me better and perhaps in the not to distant future we can meet over a coffee watch the word go by together and I can get to know you a little too.

A couple of weeks back a client and friend of mine decided she wanted some sexy cool photos of her in her leathers before she had to part with them.. due to the fact she no longer has a bike to ride off into the sunset on.  So we booked out an afternoon, ordered the sun to shine and headed out to shoot a biker chick lifestyle set.

After a little chat we decided to keep things very casual with the make-up, posturing and locations.  We selected two fun and different location to shoot at.  The first was the steps to an old house in my village and the second was Brough Haven at sunset.  Both locatons offered a casual but very different feel.

Even with some challanging lighting due to the low late winter sunhine we got a selection of cool photos to bring back some memories.

Even on a dreary rainy February day like today I am kept busy editing wedding images from last weekend. But the fun we had you would have thought it was a sunny summers day I had been shooting on.

Last Friday I was invited to attend the intimate family wedding of Wendy and Tim. At the beautiful Rudding Park Hotel just outside of Harrogate. This was a new location for me so it gave me the chance to be challenged. Working at a unknown location is fairly rare for me these days so its nice to travel to new places and work outside of my usual comfort zone.

Rudding Park offered fun new locations and gave me new ideas making Wendy and Tims photos one of a kind. It was also lovely working at a wedding of just 12 guests. I meant I had the chance to really get to know my subjects, play around and try some new compositions. Also being able to make friends meant I could push to get some really honest natural expressions and I think this has helped me show what a relaxed fun day was had by all.
